Gradix does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything you enter into the app stays on your device and is never accessible to the developer or any third party.
Gradix is an academic companion app developed by Syed Hassan Ali Bukhari. It helps university students track subjects, grades, attendance, and study tasks, and gives them tools to work out exactly where they stand academically.
Gradix collects no data of any kind. The app does not have internet access and cannot transmit information even if it wanted to. There are no analytics, no crash reporting services, no advertising SDKs, and no third party libraries that access user data.
All subjects, grades, attendance records, study tasks, and preferences you enter into Gradix are stored exclusively on your device using Android's private app storage. This storage is sandboxed by the Android operating system, meaning no other app can read it and the developer has no access to it under any circumstances.
We do not share any data with any third parties because we do not have access to any data. There is nothing to share.
All data stored by Gradix is deleted automatically and permanently when you uninstall the app from your device. You can also delete all data at any time from within the app, or clear app data through your device Settings under Apps. There is no account to delete and no server side data to request removal of.
Gradix can send you local reminders for upcoming assessments and study tasks. These notifications are scheduled and generated entirely on your device using Android's own alarm and notification systems. No data leaves your device to generate them, and the developer has no visibility into what is scheduled or shown.
Gradix offers home screen widgets showing upcoming assessments and study tasks. These widgets read directly from the same local, on device storage as the app itself. No data is sent anywhere to display them.
Gradix is a general purpose academic tool intended for users of all ages. The app does not collect any information from anyone, including children. It is compliant with applicable laws regarding children's privacy because it collects and transmits no data whatsoever.
Gradix requests only the permissions needed to schedule reminders and keep them working after a device restart, notification permission to display them, and permission to schedule exact alarms so reminders arrive on time. It does not access your camera, microphone, contacts, location, or any other system resource beyond its own private storage folder. The backup feature exports your data as a file to a location you choose on your device. This requires you to select a folder through Android's built-in file picker. No file access occurs without your explicit action and no data is sent anywhere.
Gradix is a personal record-keeping and calculation tool only. It does not provide academic or institutional advice of any kind. The accuracy of all calculations depends entirely on what the user enters and on their own university's actual grading rules. The developer is not responsible for any academic decisions made based on information tracked in this app.
Gradix currently supports local backup and restore only, giving you full control over your data. If any feature requiring internet access is introduced in the future, it will be strictly opt-in, and this policy will be updated accordingly before that version is released.
If this privacy policy is ever updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL with a new date. Given the nature of the app, significant changes are unlikely.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy you can reach the developer at thehassanbukhari@gmail.com.
